How this tool works

JPG vs transparent PNG

Pick PNG with a transparent background for a signature that overlays cleanly. Pick JPG for broad form compatibility and a solid background; JPG fills transparency with the background color.

Optional KB target

Leave the target blank to resize only. Enter a value to compress toward a size cap; the panel shows whether the result is under or over the target.

Dimensions and metadata

The tool resizes to your exact width and height by default. Re-encoding removes EXIF metadata. Print DPI is not embedded; sizes are in pixels.

Verify the requirement

Signature size and format rules vary by portal and can change. Confirm the required values on the official upload page before submitting.

Signature Resizer in your browser

Signature Resizer scales a scanned or photographed signature to the dimensions an online form expects — 300×100 pixels by default, and fully editable. You can keep a solid background as JPG or export a transparent PNG so the signature sits cleanly on any page.

You can also set an optional KB target. When a target is entered the tool compresses the signature toward that size at the chosen dimensions and reports whether it landed under or over; leave it blank to resize only, without target-KB compression; the result is still re-encoded by the browser.

Signature upload rules differ between portals and can change, so treat the preset as a convenient starting point and confirm the required size and dimensions on the page you are submitting to.

How to use Signature Resizer

  1. Upload your signature image — click the upload area, press Enter, or drag the file in.
  2. Set the width and height (300×100 is a common starting point), choose a fit, and pick JPG or transparent PNG.
  3. Optionally enter a target size in KB to compress the signature, then click Process.
  4. Review the dimensions and size in the result panel, download the file, and check it against your form before uploading.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server by the Signature Resizer?

No. The Signature Resizer runs entirely in your browser. Your signature image is processed on your device and is never uploaded.

Can I make a transparent signature PNG?

Yes. Choose PNG as the output format and set the background to Transparent. JPG cannot store transparency, so for JPG the background is filled with the color you choose.

Can I compress the signature to a KB limit?

Yes, optionally. Enter a target size in KB and the tool compresses the signature toward it at the chosen dimensions, reporting whether it landed under or over. Leave the field blank to only resize.

What dimensions should a signature be?

It depends on the form. 300×100, 400×160, and 140×60 pixels are common, but you should use whatever the specific portal asks for — all values are editable.

Does the Signature Resizer keep my dimensions exactly?

Yes by default. It resizes to the width and height you set. If you add a KB target and enable dimension reduction, it may shrink the image to meet the size and will report the smaller dimensions.
