How this tool works

What it does

Invert Image Colors inverts all colours (a negative).

Reversible

Invert twice to restore colours.

Output

PNG/JPG/WebP with quality.

Privacy & metadata

Everything runs in your browser on a canvas — your image is never uploaded. Browser canvas export strips EXIF, GPS, and most other source metadata.

Invert Image Colors in your browser

Invert Image Colors inverts the colours of an image on a browser canvas, turning each colour into its opposite (a photo-negative look). Everything runs in your browser on a canvas — your image is never uploaded. Choose the output format and download.

Inversion flips every channel, so white becomes black and colours become their complements. PNG and WebP output can preserve transparency when the source has an alpha channel and Background is set to Transparent; JPG is flattened onto your chosen colour.

Invert Image Colors shows the output dimensions, the output format, and whether transparency was kept or filled. Browser canvas export strips EXIF, GPS, and most other source metadata. Animated GIFs are processed as a single still frame; animation is not preserved.

How to use Invert Image Colors

  1. Upload your image into Invert Image Colors — click, press Enter, or drag it in.
  2. Pick an output format and background mode for the inverted image; PNG/WebP can preserve transparency only with source alpha and a Transparent background.
  3. If you choose JPG, set the colour used to fill any transparent areas.
  4. Click Process, then download the inverted image.
