How this tool works
What it does
Blur Image applies a whole-image Gaussian blur.
Strength
0–100 px.
Output
PNG/JPG/WebP; PNG/WebP can preserve transparency only when source alpha exists and Transparent background is selected.
Privacy & metadata
Everything runs in your browser on a canvas — your image is never uploaded. Browser canvas export strips EXIF, GPS, and most other source metadata.
Blur Image in your browser
Blur Image applies an adjustable Gaussian blur to the whole image on a browser canvas. Everything runs in your browser on a canvas — your image is never uploaded. Set the blur strength, choose the output format, and download.
This blurs the entire image, not a selected region. PNG and WebP output can preserve transparency when the source has an alpha channel and Background is set to Transparent; JPG is flattened onto your chosen colour. For blurring just a face or area, use a region-based tool instead.
Blur Image shows the blur strength used, the output dimensions, the output format, and the file size. Browser canvas export strips EXIF, GPS, and most other source metadata. Animated GIFs are processed as a single still frame; animation is not preserved.
How to use Blur Image
- Upload your image into Blur Image — click, press Enter, or drag it in.
- Set the blur amount in pixels (the whole image is blurred).

Frequently asked questions
Does Blur Image blur the whole image or a region?
The whole image. Blur Image applies one Gaussian blur across the entire picture; it does not blur a selected area or a single face.
Can I export Blur Image as JPG or WebP?
Yes — the blurred image exports as PNG, JPG, WebP, or same-as-input, with a quality control for the JPG and WebP paths.
How strong can the blur be in Blur Image?
From 0 (no blur) up to 100 px. Very high values make the image heavily soft.
Are my images uploaded by Blur Image?
No — Blur Image blurs your image in your browser on a canvas; nothing is uploaded.
