How this tool works

What it does

Blur Face blurs a rectangular region you define with numeric fields.

Region

X/Y/width/height, validated and clamped to the image.

Strength

One blur slider (0–100 px).

Privacy & metadata

Everything runs in your browser on a canvas — your image is never uploaded. Browser canvas export strips EXIF, GPS, and most other source metadata.

Blur Face in your browser

Blur Face blurs a rectangular area of an image — useful for hiding a face, a name, a plate, or any sensitive detail. Everything runs in your browser on a canvas — your image is never uploaded. You set the region with numeric X, Y, width and height fields and choose the blur strength.

The region is validated and clamped to the image, so out-of-range or oversized values are corrected rather than producing a blank result, and the tool tells you if the region was clamped to fit. This version uses numeric region fields; a draggable on-image selector and automatic face detection are not available here.

Blur Face shows the blurred region, the blur strength, the output dimensions and the file size. Browser canvas export strips EXIF, GPS, and most other source metadata. Animated GIFs are processed as a single still frame; animation is not preserved.

How to use Blur Face

  1. Upload your image into Blur Face — click, press Enter, or drag it in.
  2. Enter the X, Y, width and height of the area to blur.
  3. Set the blur strength in Blur Face (higher hides more).
  4. Click Process, check the hidden region in the preview, then download.

Frequently asked questions

Can Blur Face detect faces automatically?

Not in this version. You set the blur rectangle with numeric X/Y/width/height fields; automatic face detection and a draggable selector are not available here.

What if my region is off the image in Blur Face?

Blur Face validates and clamps the region to the image, and tells you in the result if it was clamped to fit, so you do not get a blank or broken output.

Can I blur more than one area with Blur Face?

Not in this version — one rectangle per run. Run the tool again on the result to blur another area.

Does Blur Face really hide the detail?

It blurs the pixels in the region so they can’t be read. Use a high blur strength for sensitive details, and verify the preview before sharing.
